Have you been chosen by God to be a follower of Jesus? The bible teaches that God draws those who are elect to Himself. Jesus said: “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him.” John 6:44aa

How Can I Know?

If you are elect you will believe, or have a desire to believe in Jesus Christ as your saviour and Lord. If this describes you then you can be saved. Believing in the real Jesus (the Jesus shown in the bible and known by the faithful) is the evidence that you are one of the elect.

How Can You Be Saved?

In the New Testament, a jailer at Philippi asked “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Acts 16:30 Paul and Silas answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” Acts 16:31 Religion tries to morph true Christian teaching from salvation by faith alone, into salvation by good works. Ephesians teaches us, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is a gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

What Does It Mean To Believe In Jesus?

To put your confidence and trust in Jesus Christ, to accept Him and His message as eternal truth that applies to you. In summary, the message of salvation through Jesus can be found in Romans 10:9. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

WHY?

Our sins, no mater how small, have caused a separation between us and God. Sin deserves punishment and that’s why Jesus dies for us on the cross, taking the punishment we deserve.

To believe, you must accept that Jesus is the eternal Son of God who died as a substitutionary sacrifice for your sins and three days later rose from the dead. When you do, your sins are forgiven and you receive eternal life. Jesus was raised from the dead, making a way for our resurrection life. “… Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Chosen People?

Christians are God’s chosen people; the Apostle Peter taught those who believe in Jesus: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people… Who once were not a people but are
now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 Jesus taught those who believe in Him: “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you.” John 15:16a Has God chosen you? Everyone who has faith in Christ is elected and chosen by Him.

Good News!

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9. No guilt, no condemnation. At the cross when Jesus died a great exchange took place. Jesus who was sinless became sin, He took the punishment, He paid the price for His elect. We who have sinned, deserve punishment, and owe big debts, become the righteousness of God. “For he has made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Cor 5:21 Jesus’ salvation isn’t just about Heaven as your eternal home, salvation is a big word and encompasses your new potential for wholeness, healing and true prosperity for your life here on Earth.
